Brand Story
The NorthArabia story is one that excellently illustrates the power of passion and influence. It began with Shamsiya Sadiq-Mohammed’s simple desire to tastefully recreate the outfits of an influential woman whose achievements and personal style she had admired from a distance. As Shams re-interpreted similar pieces for herself through her authentic touch, she began to steal the attention of other elegant women, sometimes in the most unlikely gatherings.
With a natural gift for curating and styling fashion pieces, Shams found herself meeting the needs of each of these women; dressing them in head-turning pieces that allowed them to carry themselves with grace and to confidently share their professional expertise in every room they walked into, whether board meetings, conference panels or royal gatherings. And they kept coming back for more. This is how NorthArabia Couture came to life.
A Custom Approach
The NorthArabia name captures the essence of regal, modest northern Nigerian fashion that is very personal to Shamsiya, as well as the identity of the Arabian countries where a rich variety of such luxurious fabrics are sourced.
NorthArabia is a brand to reckon with; it has caught the attention of many fashion houses since it’s emergence in 2020. Brands such as Bellanaija, Mykmary, City people, Pleasures magazine and more. From receiving a recognition award, to winning the female designer of the month competition held by bellanaija in 2022 to being featured in Pleasues magazine; an international fashion and lifestyle magazine.
